REDCHEM submits application for PLN 94.5 million in funding to build a hydroprocessing installation under the STEP initiative

August 11, 2026

REDCHEM sp. z o.o. has submitted funding application No. FENG.05.01-IP.02-0024/26 under the Programme European Funds for a Modern Economy, Priority “Support for Projects Implementing STEP Initiative Objectives,” Measure “Critical Technologies Support Fund – Clean and Resource-Efficient Technologies Sector” (Path B, call No. FENG.05.01-IP.02-006/26).

The application covers the implementation of Stage III of REDCHEM’s investment — the construction, in Sieradz, of a pyrolysis oil hydroprocessing installation using Sulzer Chemtech’s MaxFlux® technology, integrated with the company’s own green hydrogen production installation (a 5 MW Metacon AB alkaline electrolyzer). The investment will enable the upgrading of pyrolysis oil — produced under Stages I–II of the REDCHEM installation and sourced from external domestic producers — to the quality of a fully-fledged petrochemical feedstock. The end products will be: cracker-grade naphtha (approx. 60% yield), serving as a substitute for fossil naphtha as feedstock for steam cracking installations, Recycled Carbon Fuel (RCF, approx. 27%), and Circular Grave Candle Wax (approx. 12%).

The project’s total eligible expenditure amounts to PLN 135 million net, with the requested funding amount of PLN 94.5 million, representing 70% of eligible expenditure. The project is planned for implementation between 2027 and 2029, with installation start-up and first commercial production scheduled for Q4 2029.

The project aligns with EU objectives of strengthening critical technologies and reducing the European Union’s dependence on imported hydrocarbon feedstocks, while also addressing the European petrochemical industry’s growing demand for certified feedstocks derived from chemical recycling.

The implementation of Stage III represents the natural completion of the value chain REDCHEM has been building since 2022 and strengthens the company’s position as Poland’s first supplier of cracker-grade naphtha derived from the chemical recycling of plastics to the petrochemical industry.

REDCHEM receives positive formal assessment of its funding application for a plastic waste recycling installation

July 24, 2026

REDCHEM sp. z o.o.’s application No. FELD.02.13-IZ.00-0011/26, submitted under the Regional Programme European Funds for Łódzkie 2021–2027 (Priority FELD.02, Measure FELD.02.13 – Circular Economy), has successfully passed the second stage of formal assessment. The decision was issued on July 22, 2026, and the project has been referred to the first stage of substantive assessment.

The application covers the purchase of equipment for a continuous pyrolysis line, constituting Stage I of the construction of the plastic waste recycling plant announced by the company in April of this year. The planned funding amount from the European Regional Development Fund is PLN 6.003.932.20.

The positive formal assessment marks a further step toward securing funding for the investment and confirms that the project meets the call’s formal requirements. REDCHEM is now awaiting the results of the substantive assessment, which will determine the final funding decision.

The project’s implementation remains consistent with the company’s long-term strategy of building modern, sustainable plastic waste processing infrastructure in Poland.

REDCHEM is pursuing a non-repayable grant of PLN 5.2 million for circular economy development

April 21, 2026

REDCHEM is applying for non-repayable grant funding of PLN 5.2 million under the call for proposals supporting circular economy (CE) development, announced on April 17, 2026.

The funding covers the implementation of Stage I of the construction of a modern plastic waste recycling plant, which addresses current challenges in municipal waste management and aligns with the strategic environmental policy objectives of both the European Union and Poland, in particular with regard to improving resource efficiency and reducing waste generation.

The planned investment will contribute to increasing recycling rates, reducing the negative environmental impact of waste, and developing local waste-processing infrastructure. The project meets the call’s eligibility criteria and represents a significant step toward implementing modern, sustainable industrial solutions.

The implementation of this venture strengthens REDCHEM’s position as a responsible and innovative market participant, actively supporting the transition toward a circular economy.

REDCHEM commences operational activity and develops supply chain expertise for the pyrolysis installation

December 10, 2025

On December 10, 2025, REDCHEM commenced operational activity, while continuing to support the development of its waste recycling plant project.

As part of its operations, the company participates in the supply chain of ISCC PLUS-certified waste-derived plastics directed to pyrolysis installations. These activities complement the company’s core investment project and provide an additional source of revenue.

REDCHEM cooperates with partners specializing in the conversion of waste into pyrolysis oil, supplying appropriately prepared feedstock. One of the key challenges in this area is ensuring high feedstock quality and consistency, which makes the role of a specialized supplier an essential element of the entire value chain.

This operational activity not only generates revenue at an early stage of the company’s development, but above all confirms REDCHEM’s competence and know-how in sourcing, selecting, and preparing feedstock for thermochemical processes. These competences are crucial for achieving the required quality parameters of pyrolysis oil and for ensuring compliance with the increasingly stringent regulatory requirements of the European market.

These activities form part of REDCHEM’s long-term strategy, focused on developing solutions that support the circular economy and building integrated, transparent value chains in the waste processing sector.

Increase of REDCHEM's share capital to over PLN 5 million

December 2, 2025

On December 1, 2025, on the basis of a notarial deed (Rep. A No. 1949/2025), REDCHEM’s share capital was increased through an in-kind contribution (contribution in kind) of tangible and intangible assets. As a result, the company’s share capital now amounts to PLN 226.800, and its supplementary capital to PLN 5.340.200.

The capital increase strengthens the company’s financial foundations and supports the pursuit of its strategic goal: building Poland’s first model chemical recycling plant for plastic waste, designed as a high energy-efficiency installation.

The investment aligns with the direction of economic transformation set out by the circular economy framework and with the growing regulatory requirements for waste processing and recovery on the European market.

REDCHEM – an industrial-scale circular petrochemical feedstock production project

September 12, 2024

REDCHEM is a company established by Invest Park Sieradz Sp. z o.o., carrying out a project to build a modern plastic waste recycling plant based on pyrolysis technology (Mechanical-Thermal-Catalytic Process – MTK).

The company’s goal is to become Poland’s leader in converting plastic waste into circular feedstocks for the petrochemical industry and into energy through high-efficiency cogeneration, as well as to build a strong position on the European market as a supplier of feedstocks aligned with the circular economy model.

The project is at the stage of readiness for industrial-scale implementation and ranks among the pioneering ventures of this kind in Poland. The planned installation will be capable of processing approximately 41 000 tonnes of waste per year. The technology has been developed on the basis of more than five years of research into liquid recyclate, carried out in cooperation with the Industrial Chemistry Institute in Warsaw and SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation).

The project is founded on the integration of chemical and mechanical recycling, enabling maximum use of the material and energy potential of waste, in line with the transformation directions set out by the European Union’s climate and environmental policy.

The investment is being carried out on a property located in Sieradz at 18 Zakładników Street, owned by Invest Park Sieradz Sp. z o.o., which remains REDCHEM’s majority shareholder (91.2%).

In response to the petrochemical sector’s growing demand for secondary raw materials, REDCHEM estimates that the value of the pyrolysis oil market in Europe could reach approximately EUR 4 billion by 2030.

The project constitutes a significant element of the transformation of the waste processing sector and the development of a modern, sustainable industry based on the principles of the circular economy.
