Hybrid Recycling Method

Mechanical-Thermal-Catalytic Process

MTK is an innovative solution that is the result of many years of research and experience in the waste processing industry. MTK is a new hybrid recycling method that combines mechanical and chemical recycling. MTK maximizes mechanical recycling, and processes the remaining waste thermally and catalytically, in accordance with the EU Waste Hierarchy. This is the only effective way to handle the recycling of the most problematic wasteMixed plastic waste (PE, PP, PS) is difficult to process due to differences in their chemical and physical properties. These materials arise during the sorting process. that traditional methods cannot handle.

What Sets MTK Apart from Other Technologies?

MTK Compared to Other Technologies

Its biggest advantage lies in the hybrid combination of mechanical and chemicalChemical recycling transforms contaminated plastic waste into materials with virgin-like properties, suitable for demanding applications such as food contact or automotive use, which cannot be achieved through mechanical recycling. recyclingRecycling refers to the recovery process in which waste is reprocessed into products, materials, or substances for their original or other purposes, excluding energy recovery and processing into fuels or materials for landfilling.. This allows our facility to operate according to EU Waste HierarchyThe European waste management hierarchy is a principle that establishes five priorities: prevention, reuse, recycling, energy recovery, and disposal. Its aim is to minimize negative environmental impacts., minimizing the amount of waste directed to landfills while maximizing material recovery.
MTK process enables efficient sorting of waste into high- and low-quality categories. Higher-quality waste is processed into regranulateRegranulate is a secondary raw material obtained from plastic waste, processed into granules that replace virgin materials. Regranulates are used in applications such as packaging, construction elements, and household products., which can be reused in production, while the most challenging waste, not recyclable through traditional means, is directed to thermocatalytic processing. This process converts it into liquid recyclateLiquid recyclate is a hydrocarbon oil derived from the chemical recycling of difficult-to-process plastic waste, utilized in the petrochemical industry to produce new plastics, supporting the circular economy., a valuable raw material for petrochemicals in the production of new goods.

With REDCHEM’s technology, your company can significantly reduce its environmental impact by transforming plastic waste into valuable products. MTK not only aligns with the latest industry trends but also delivers tangible financial benefits through material recovery and producing petrochemical feedstock.

Features of Our Technology

Scalability and Modularity

The technology implemented by REDCHEM is scalable, meaning our process can be applied in small businesses, municipalities, counties, or large recycling facilities. In other words, its size and capacity can be tailored to meet specific needs.

The second key feature of our process is modularity. This means that each module can be independently switched off, with the flexibility to add additional sections as required.

Energy Self-Sufficiency of the REDCHEM Facility

Energy

Our facility will achieve 100% energy self-sufficiency through the use of cogeneration. The cogeneration unit will burn LPG sourced from our own production, as well as natural gas, to generate both electricity and heat. The waste heat will be utilized within our own technological processes. Additionally, photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs of buildings and synchronized with the operation of the cogeneration unit.

Thus, REDCHEM project complies with the guidelines of the EU Directive 2012/27/EU
on energy efficiency.
